The Healthy Communities Partnership and lead partner Evansville Trails Coalition is excited to announce the completion of a one of a kind Story Trail at Garvin Park! This unique experience allows kids to read two brand new children’s books. But here’s the catch, each page of the story is on a large sign. Families can follow the trail of signs on a short walk throughout the park to complete the story! While children and their parents wind around the trail they are able to read DJ’s Busy day going one direction and on the way back they can read Gary’s Gigantic Dream. HCP is planning to install more Story Trails throughout parks in Evansville. Story Trails incorporate physical activity, literacy, placemaking, and improve the quality of life to those in, and around our parks and green spaces.
